  • What is Viewfax?

    Viewfax is an X-based display program for viewing facsimile-oriented images. Viewfax can display raw, digifax or TIFF images containing Group 3 (T.4) and/or Group 4 (T.6) encoded image data.

    Installation Information

    Viewfax includes these subsystems:
    fw_viewfax.sw.viewfax (default) Executable viewfax display program.
    fw_viewfax.man.viewfax (default) Viewfax online manual pages (preformatted).
    fw_viewfax.man.relnotes (default) Viewfax online release notes.
    fw_viewfax.src The complete viewfax 2.3 software distribution from which this product was built (including SGI modifications).

    Installation Method

    All of the subsystems for Viewfax can be installed using IRIX. You do not need to use the miniroot. Refer to the Software Installation Administrator's Guide for complete installation instructions.

    Prerequisites

    Your workstation must be running IRIX 5.3 or later in order to use this product.
